Arguably, the most beautiful city in the world, a remarkable place where there is so much to see and do. This city of Hungary will certainly not disappoint! Budapest was born from three major towns, Buda, Pest and Óbuda in the late 19th Century and is full of history from the Magyar Conquest, being destroyed by the Mongols, freedom from Turkish rule in the 17th Century to what it has become today, a thriving cultural city that is becoming very popular with tourists.
Budapest is called the City of Spas, therefore a must to visit! There are 16th Century Turkish Baths that include the Császár, the Széchenyi (one of the largest spa complexes in Europe), the Gellért, Lukács Baths and the Rác Baths. There are a number of caves to explore that have laid secret, public access to them are at II. Szépvölgyi út 162, II. Pusztaszeri út 35 and I. Országház u. 16. Museums range from fine arts, military history to the Roman Ruins of Aquincum. The main shopping street is Pest is Váci utca and there are plenty of modern shopping centres to explore. Visit the Falk Miksa utca for the antiques and in and around Váci utca for the designer stores.
Beautifully lit up in the evening, Budapest has plenty to keep you up all night. Visit Franz Liszt Square and Ráday utca for many cafes, bars and restaurants. Las Vegas Casino, located in the Sofitel Atrium Hotel, is a very professional gaming establishment open 24 hours, and has welcomed many celebrities. For fun cabaret nights head for the Moulin Rouge.
