Edinburgh has been Scotland’s capital city since the 15th century and is a fantastic mix of culture and stunning scenery set to the background of the magical Edinburgh Castle. Though Edinburgh’s climate sometimes leaves a little to be desired, the warm local welcome more than makes up for it.

Edinburgh has numerous attractions but of most importance is the old town, and 12th century Edinburgh Castle standing proudly over the city. It's a real hub of activity all day long and a world heritage site. The new town section of the city itself was mainly built in the 18th century, with some of the finest examples of Georgian architecture on display.

The city is very proud of its arts and performing arts heritage, and you can visit one of the city's many galleries, museums or five performing arts theatres. Edinburgh also has one of the worlds finest zoo’s and is a must to visit.

Edinburgh is famous for its many festivals that occur year round such as the Edinburgh International Festival, Fringe Festival, Military Tattoo, Edinburgh Film Festival, Book festival and Jazz festival ensuring that there’s always something happening in this vibrant city.

Shopping in Edinburgh is excellent and a trip down Princes Street will have you parting with your spending money on a range of designer and high street shops.

In the evening Edinburgh is beautiful comes to life. With fantastic bars and restaurants it truly is a magical place to explore.
