Sweden is a country with so much history to explore, ranging from the fascinating Nomadic period, the Viking times and the Gustavian days right through to modern times. What better place to explore than its capital Stockholm.

This Swedish City is built on 14 islands and is surrounded by the Baltic Sea and Lake Mälaren. Just some of the islands to explore are Gamla Stam, the medieval town, with its narrow streets housing many boutiques, the modern Södermalm island, a very hip and trendy location for shopping, entertainment and culture. For the fashionable designer names the place to go is Östermalm and to relax, head to Djurgården, the city’s national park. There are boat rides you can take to explore further out of the city or canal boats to take a relaxing ride around this charismatic city.

When the sun goes down and sampling the nightlife is on the agenda, then head for Södermalm and its neighbours Vasastan and Kungsholmen. For a wider choice of clubs, head for the main districts of Stureplan and Kungsgatan.
