There are various events during the year based on or inspired by the medieval tradition and the annual celebration of the Old Town Days rejoices its colourful history that has made Tallinn what it is today. For four days in the summer, the town turns into a Medieval Market!
Visit the oldest Apothecary in the world in Tallinns Town Hall Square and St. Olaf’s Church, the tallest building built up until the late 1800’s. Take a look at the 600 year old Town Hall, the only Gothic town hall in Northern Europe still in intact. See the impressive Medieval Fortress, the most powerful defence system in place by the 16th century along with the Kiek in de Kök, the great cannon tower. Read the history and be enthralled!
For souvenir shopping, take a walk down Katariina passage for some great crafts shops, there are many malls that have thrived since the collapse of the Soviet Empire. There is also a small mall in the centre of Demini Kaubamaja.
There are a variety of clubs to choose from to entertain you in the evening. If you enjoy a bit of Salsa then the place to be is the Havana Club in the Old City or for high energy dance then head for Hollywood. For rock, then the bar Guitar should be right up your street, R.I.F.F for mostly R&B and Moskva for a bit of R&B and dance.
